Communities depend on energy companies for reliable, safe electricity and natural gas.  Our energy clients count on WSSI’s reliable staff, extensive experience, and regulatory knowledge to develop affordable, sustainable solutions that protect natural and cultural resources.

From generation to transmission and distribution projects, we work together to create viable solutions that benefit the environment through effective stormwater management, conscientious natural and cultural resource studies, habitat restoration, and permitting and compensation for unavoidable impacts.

WSSI’s dedicated Energy Services team understands the unique challenges and opportunities utility companies face in establishing and maintaining infrastructure in the landscape. Our experience and tailored, solution-focused approaches serve our clients and the environment.

Our work includes

  • stormwater management compliance solutions for challenging sites

  • SWPPP development and compliance inspections

  • water resource engineering, erosion control design, and plan review

  • permit compliance inspections

  • wetland and stream delineations

  • archeological investigations

  • impact permitting and compensation

  • stream restorations to stabilize infrastructure threatened by stream bed and bank erosion

  • habitat restoration

  • Right-of-Way management:

    • Baseline Conditions Assessments

    • Integrated habitat management strategies

    • Vegetation management strategies

  • Drone photogrammetry and reality capture

Improved Energy and Utility Asset Management through Drone Technology

Easily maneuverable and small, drones can access multiple perspectives (above the canopy, from a right of way), and can reach areas difficult to access from the ground and not visible from standard up-in-the-air flightlines. Highly detailed drone photogrammetry is an efficient way to record corridor encroachments and vegetation data, making maintenance planning easy. Drones are also an excellent tool for evaluating maintenance success - as they can be deployed to the same location time after time - and provide data to support further planning.

SAFETY FIRST
Safety takes priority in all of our projects. WSSI - like all of the Davey Tree Expert Company - operates under a comprehensive Safety and Loss Prevention Program designed to prevent workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses. Our objective is to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for staff and project partners, as well as the public, on project sites, and on the road.
