On January 27, 2017 Fairfax County presented Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI) a Land Conservation Award for the Wakefield Park Stream Restoration. WSSI designed the project and provided full-time construction oversight and support for the restoration of more than 3,400 linear feet of two separate urban channels that run through the forested floodplain of Wakefield Park. WSSI also completed the wetland delineation, endangered and threatened species surveys, and a complete tree inventory of the project area, and WSSI surveyors captured detailed site conditions to support the design process.

NVBIA Associate of the Year Award

On January 28 the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA) recognized Mike Rolband and WSSI as Associate of the Year for 25 years of dedicated service and commitment to the organization. NVBIA presents the award annually to an “associate member for significant contributions and participation in the Association’s programs, activities and leadership.”
